hello

I'm Stephanie

I’m so happy you’re here! I taught first and second grade for eleven years and feel at home in the primary classroom. I’m always looking for new ways to put a creative twist on the standards and I’m passionate about helping teachers do the same in their classroom. I can’t wait to share new lesson ideas, teaching tips, and engaging K-2 resources with you! Coffee mugs, home decor, and a day spent near the water are a few of my very favorite things.

education

background

I graduated from The College of Saint Rose, in my home state of New York, with a BA in Elementary Education. Then I began my teaching career in Northern Colorado. Over the years I have had the privilege of teaching kindergarten, first, and second grade. But the majority of my years were spent in first grade, it’s the grade that has my heart! My first year in the classroom I was eager for more opportunities to connect with other teachers. I didn’t have a big team to bounce ideas off of or a strong support system at this school. Which is how Falling Into First came to be. What started out as a place to share my day to day life in the classroom quickly became a growing community of teachers.

my

family

I met my Colorado native husband in Australia during a study abroad trip in college. We spent 6 months together on the Gold Coast and have been together ever since. In 2019 we were blessed with our baby boy, Carson. He was born with a rare genetic condition that primarily affects his adrenal system and maximum growth potential. As a result, he is and will always be significantly shorter than his peers. Small but mighty, we know he was perfectly made to be exactly who he is. When Carson was born I made the decision to stay home to better support the level of care he needed. My greatest hope in life is that he is celebrated for everything that makes him uniquely him. I will always be his biggest advocate and share his story in hopes of spreading a message of inclusivity and acceptance. The best part of my days are spent trying to keep up with him and I’m grateful to be able to support his needs at home while still continuing my work in education as a teacher-creative in this space.

support

Through PD & REsources

My ultimate goal is to support educators and busy parents in creating high interest learning experiences, while saving them precious time! I have devoted my time to developing engaging curriculum resources and sharing best practices through meaningful PD.

I hope you cozy up with your favorite beverage, take a look around, and find some inspiration to take back to your little learners this week!
